Who is this training for?

This training was designed for ITMAV* community workers (CWs) and managers.

Its content is restricted to CWs and managers with an ITMAV program agreement number.

Interns in ITMAV projects, as well as employees working in organizations who do not receive funding from the ITMAV program, are invited to write at paso-itmav@ulaval.ca to verify if they can obtain an authorization to follow this training.

Why attend this training?

ITMAVs are relatively new in Quebec. As part of their mandate, CWs must communicate with various older adults and stakeholders, with different objectives in mind. The material available on this training platform will help CWs to equip themselves to fulfill their duties effectively and define the boundaries of their mandate. As for ITMAV project managers, this training will allow them to better understand the role and responsibilities of of the CWs in their organization, as well as equip themselves to support them in their work.

This module looks at different locating strategies to use in different contexts.

This module covers essential elements for establishing a relationship of trust, biases associated with aging, and the main challenges encountered.

Understanding the situation

This module includes the foundations of effective information gathering and the main obstacles that can hinder the identification of needs.

Supporting

This module outlines the type of possible support and the difficulties that may hinder the process.

Reflecting on values and ethical principles

This module covers the topic of values and ethical principles, as well as important concepts such as security and confidentiality

Work organization

This module specifically covers work planning and organization.

Management and supervision

This module outlines the manager's role and responsibilities, as well as management and supervision methods.

How much time should I plan?

Please allow a minimum of 8 hours for the whole training. The approximate duration of each module is indicated when presenting its specific objectives. These estimates do not include your personnal initiatives, such as exploring the complementary material or listening to the audioclips multiple times.

Where should I start?

Start by registering. Once your account is activated, access the Training tab to get an overview of this training, and then continue in order from Module 1 to 10.
