How do you cite the training platform as a reference?

Here is how to cite the training platform according to APA style:

Training aspects

What is the cost of this training?

There are no fees associated with the training. It is offered for free.

Do I need to register and log in to browse the platform and take the training?

Some tabs of the training platform are open access (Home, FAQ, and About). But you need to register and log in to access the "Training", "Evaluation" and "Biblio-PASO" tabs. Only ITMAV CWs and project managers can take this training, participate in the platform assessment and consult the library. You'll be asked for your financial aid-agreement number when you sign up. Without it, you won't be able to complete your registration.

Am I required to participate in the different evaluation modalities of the training platform?

No, it is not mandatory, but it can help improve the platform. Your contribution in this regard is greatly appreciated. Please visit the Evaluation tab for more details.

Should I follow each training module in order?

To complete the training for the first time, you must follow the modules in chronological order using the "next page" button to progress and unlock the next module. Once a module is unlocked, you may return to it at your convenience. After your training, you will have access to all the content of the modules, as well as periodic updates to support you in your practice.

Am I required to listen to the audioclips before answering the quiz?

It is strongly recommended to listen to the audioclips before proceeding to the quizzes, but you may also simply read the associated PDF. However, it is possible that different narrated elements will be the subject of questions in the quizzes, such as examples of difficult situations, even though they are not written in the PDF.

Can I listen to the same audioclip several times?

Yes, the audioclips remain accessible at all times and you can listen to them several times.

Where can I access additional material or training?

In each module, additional material is proposed according to the theme covered under the "Complementary material" tab. As for additional training, the audioclip on difficult situations in Module 8 offers several examples of training that may be relevant to you. You will have to take your own steps to have access to these trainings. For the moment, the only additional training you can access through the platform is in the complementary material of Module 5. This French training is entitle: Vers l'inclusion des personnes ayant des incapacités dans les milieux d'aînés. It will allow you to increase your knowledge regarding older adults' social inclusion.

Can this training be considered as continuing education by my organization, employer, or professional order?

This training is non-credited, meaning that it is not recognized as continuing education by Quebec's professional orders. Within your organization, the subject of trainings and their recognition must be discussed with your employer.

May I receive a certificate of participation for this training?

Yes, a training certificate, which you will be able to download, will appear on the screen once you have completed the 10 training modules.

Technical aspects

Can I use any internet browser to follow the training?

Yes, the training platform is supported by all major internet browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari, and Internet Explorer.

May I follow the training on my cell phone?

Yes, you can take the training on your cell phone. 

Should I use speakers or headphones to follow the training?

For better audio quality, we recommend using headphones or speakers to listen to the audioclips.

Can I increase the speed and resolution of an audioclip?

The procedure is described below. To view a step-by-step guide with images, click on the link: Speed and resolution settings.

Procedure:

1. Click on the tractor wheel icon at the bottom right corner to access the audioclip settings. If you want to slow down the flow or increase the pace of the narration, select : Vitesse de lecture.

2. Click on the speed that seems ideal to you.

3. Click on the triangle at the bottom left corner to start the module. Note that several attempts can be made before finding the narration speed that suits you. Feel free to repeat steps 1 to 3 as many times as necessary.

4. If you want to increase or reduce the resolution quality of the audioclip, go back to step 1 and select: Qualité.

5. Click on the resolution quality that seems ideal to you.

6. Click on the triangle at the bottom left corner to start the capsule. Note that several attempts can be made before finding the resolution quality that suits you. Feel free to repeat steps 1-4-5 and 6 as many times as necessary.

7. You have succeeded!

How to enlarge an audioclip in "full-screen" mode?

The procedure is described below. To view a step-by-step guide with images, click on the link: "Full-screen" mode

Procedure:

1. Click on the logo at the bottom left corner of the audioclip : Regarder sur YouTube.

2 You will be redirected to the video on the YouTube platform in a new tab of your browser. In this new tab, click on the square at the bottom right corner.

3 The "full-screen" mode will open automatically. You can listen to the audioclip by clicking on the triangle at the bottom left corner, as well as adjust the volume by clicking on the little speaker.

4. To exit "full-screen" mode, click on the inverted square at the bottom right corner or use the Escape (Esc) button on your keyboard.

5. You can then return to the training platform by clicking on its tab.

6. You have succeeded!

How to display or remove subtitles in an audioclip?

Procedure:

1. Press the arrow at the center of the video. The audioclip will begin.

2. Press the vertical lines at the bottom left corner to pause the audioclip.

3. Click on the keyboard at the bottom right corner. English (Canada) subtitles will be added automatically. Use the same tab to disable subtitle insertions. 

4. . If you want subtitles in a language other than English (Canada), enable subtitles (step 3), then click on the tractor wheel at the bottom right corner. In the menu, select: Sous-titres.

5. Another menu will open. Select : Traduire automatiquement. 

6. Choose the language that suits you from the options provided and click. Note that the translation is done automatically by YouTube and the accuracy of the proposed translations cannot be guaranteed by the platform's creators.

7. You can start the audioclip by clicking on the triangle at the bottom left corner. Subtitles will be inserted in your preferred language.

8. If you decide to watch the capsules in "full-screen" mode directly on the YouTube platform (this topic was discussed in the previous question), follow the steps described above to add or remove subtitles in YouTube videos.

​ How do I download the documents I want to use to follow the training? ​

Procedure: 

1. Click on the link of the document you want to download. It will open in a new tab.

2. Go to this new tab by clicking on it.

3. On the taskbar, click on the floppy disk at the top right corner or type Ctrl-S on your keyboard. 

4. A menu will open where you can rename the document and indicate where you want to download it. When these choices are made, click on: Save. 

5. Go back to where you saved your document, select it and double-click to open it or right-click on your mouse and then choose : Ouvrir. 

6. The document will open on your computer with Adobe Reader or your preferred app to read PDF.

7. You have succeeded!

​ How do I print the documents I want to have in paper format? ​

Procedure:

​1. Click on the link of the document you want to print. It will open in a new tab.

2. Go to this new tab by clicking on it.

3. On the taskbar, click on the printer at the top right corner or type Ctrl-P on your keyboard.  

​4. A menu will open where you can make your printing choices, e.g. the number of copies you want, double-sided printing, etc. When these choices are made, click : Print. 

5. Make sure your printer is connected and has paper.

6. You have succeeded!

How do I download a Word document onto my workstation?

The procedure is described below. To view a step-by-step guide with images, click on the link: Word doc.

Procedure:

1. Click on the link of the document you want to download. It will open in a new tab.

2. Go to this new tab by clicking on it.

3. Then click on the File/Fichier tab, at the top left of the document.

4. Choose on the Download/Télécharger option and then click on the format you want to download it in. We suggest you in Word format so you can edit it as you wish.

5. Your document will be uploaded to your Download/Téléchargements folder. To open the document on your workstation, click: Open File/Ouvrir un fchier. The downloaded document will open through your desktop app.

6. To use the downloaded document as you wish, click: Enable Editing/Afficher la modification, at the top right. We suggest that you save a blank version of this document in your records and then make copies that you can edit.

7. To print the document, follow the usual procedure from the document you downloaded onto your workstation. Otherwise, to print the document from the training platform, click: File/Fichier. Select: Print/Imprimer (instead of Download/Télécharger) and follow the printing instructions.

8. You have succeeded!

​ How do I save my progress in the quizzes and in the training in general?

Your progress through the different modules will be saved automatically. You can view your progress by cliquing on "My account" to the right of the training title once you are logged in.

What do I do if I don't remember my username or password?

Your username is the email address with which you created your account. If you have forgotten your password, click on "Reset your password" in the grey bar on the login page and proceed according to the steps provided. 

What do I do if my username or password is invalid?

Make sure that you are using the email address and password with which you created your account. If you have not created an account, we invite you to register by clicking on "Register" to the right of the training title. You must be registered as an ITMAV CW or manager in order to be able to take the training.
